Online Travel Agents (OTAs)

Online Travel Agents (OTAs) have largely replaced high-street travel agents as a result of the Internet.  They have obvious advantages such as global reach and 24/7 availability.  Each has strengths and weaknesses and it is wise for owners to keep abreast of what is going on in the OTA world so that they are prepared for some of the problems with specific OTAs and OTAs in general.

We maintain a non-exhaustive list of the main OTAs and update it from time to time.  In addition to OTAs there are many sites which charge a listing fee but do not charge a fee each time a booking is made.
